Saloote creates new mobile app to encourage social music collaboration

    November 22, 2014 /

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED ON AXS.COM Long distance collaboration has never been made easier, especially for friends and family who miss creating music together! Yesterday, November 21, 2014, a new app was launched to Apple devices on behalf of Saloote, “a fun way to perform.” In a recent press release, Saloote detailed how their new app will revive a social network that dedicated itself to music, long before the days of MySpace. This time they are doing it differently, by giving users a “way to perform, record, mashup and share videos across social media.” The app is free, generating much anticipated “buzz” and “re-inventing the social music experience.” As a matter of…

Playas Mob Radio: Excellent platform for independents to shine alongside majors

    November 22, 2014 /

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED TO AXS.COM Independent music artists are constantly looking for an avenue to be heard by potential fans and to be discovered by the music industry’s top movers and shakers. The problem, however, is that there are multiple avenues for them to do so. And still, their objective is not being achieved due to barriers of entry and/or lack of mixed audience participation. Independent artists are faced with paying high fees without the promise that they will be heard and accepted with open arms by those that can make their dreams a reality. Often times, they pay high fees, and there is no audience at all. Other times, platforms…

Hanni El Khatib is joined by GZA of Wu-Tang on the remix of ‘Moonlight’

    October 27, 2014 /

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED BY AXS.COM With a somewhat psychadelic sound, eerie reverbs and delays accompany great vocals over an awesome hippie-funk remix of “Moonlight” featuring GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, Hanni El Khatib shows us that Hip Hop can appeal to just about any crowd, including a modern-day Psychadelic audience. However, while very artistic, it leaves audiences asking for a version of this song with clean, untampered vocals that one can listen to repetitively and at the same time grow on them. “Taking us out to the cosmos,” as Hanni’s publicist states is just what this track is about. It does give you this feeling of “moonlight” and “bizzarro” if you…
