Staying Productive During the Holiday Season

    December 24, 2020 /

Previously Published on News Break Relaxing in front of a toasty fireplace, we sip on hot chocolate and sing with our eight-year-old daughter. She has just discovered Karaoke for the first time and seems to be the next rock superstar, ready to make her big break. The holidays are for reconnecting with loved ones, spending time with family and rekindling the friendships we almost lost to the turbulence last year. It’s a time of great joy, warmth and spirit — but also a time of great stress and distraction. We must find time to relax for the first quarter. Yet, we must also stay productive in preparation for the upcoming new year.…

Improving the Corporate Culture | How to optimize your workforce from a distance

    December 23, 2020 /

Previously Published on News Break 2020 led to a surprising shift in how businesses would operate going forward. Many of these businesses have learned that they could actually cut costs by removing overhead. Others are downsizing and/or relocating to more tax-friendly areas of the United States. While some have let go of their workforce, others are growing at an unprecedented pace. With employees spread far and wide, companies are doubling down on the corporate culture and how teams operate. Productivity was a major concern for businesses with no existing infrastructure and with employees unaccustomed to working from home. Performance was another issue. Uncertainty in the market had led to uncertainty…

6 Trends to Keep an Eye on in 2021 …and why we should be paying attention

    November 30, 2020 /

Previously Published on News Break Since the pandemic, the World has been accelerating at an unprecedented rate. And, yet, there’s irony in that it has entirely slowed down, altogether. We have been presented with a whole new dichotomy and are experiencing things we had never known before. For some, the pandemic has brought about a sense of relief. It has given them time to reflect and time to catch up. Some have benefited from such an occurrence, while others have hit rock bottom in its most purest form. The World continues to turn, and we continue to learn new things, adopt new techniques and perfect that of which would lead…

The Job Search: Why aren’t you getting any calls back?

    November 29, 2020 /

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED TO NEWS BREAK The Covid-19 pandemic has taken a serious toll on our economy. And for so many, it has also taken away the jobs that they’ve relied on for more than twenty years. Many of these people were so secure in their positions that they never would have imagined seeking new employment — especially so late in their careers. But, the truth is, the world will never be the same. And unfortunately, the unimaginable has become imaginable. So, what do they do? They apply for one position after another to regrettably never get a word back. In some cases, they might receive a batched email, or an…

Could reinventing family fun serve as a lifeline in Chuck E. Cheese’s current bankruptcy case?

    September 24, 2020 /

PUBLISHED ON MEDIUM Home. Where a kid can be a kid. Growing up, a kid was a kid when climbing through plastic tubes, jumping into a lagoon of colorful balls, happily watching animatronics malfunction, eating pizza, and — of course — exchanging our hard-earned tickets for spider rings and bubble gum wristwatches. Over the years, our favorite birthday venue would transform before our very eyes, serving a newer generation and doing away with our bless-ed jungle gyms — all while adding touch screens into the mix. And, then… COVID struck. Amidst national shutdowns and closures, Chuck E. Cheese would go on to see its greatest transformation, yet. Concerned that virus…
